After a 1-0 victory over CSKA Moscow, we are definitely the better half of the game, but as always a lot is on stake here. 11Reds brings a collection of all the injury news and other tid-bits that shall help you get in the right mood of the game. Let us start with what is good about today’s match, then move on to the bad and at last the Ugly.

Good!

  • We are looking at our fourth straight CL win.
  • Let us hope Rooney Sr.**, wants it to be a nice evening for Kai, the future Rooney, who would be watching his dad play (probably**) for the first time.
  • With a 1-0 victory courtesy Valencia’s late strike we hold the upper edge and a win seals our ticket to the Knock Out stage!

Bad!

  • The Russian side come to town under new stewardship after former Spurs boss Juande Ramos was sacked after just six weeks in the job. Leonid Slutsky has taken over and Sir Alex says the former Krylia Sovetov manager will be doubly determined to leave Manchester with three points.

“You’d imagine the new coach will really want to win this game – obviously to strengthen his position in the job but also to enhance his reputation,” Sir Alex told media at his pre-match press conference. “You have to be aware that football can throw clangers into the mix. We don’t want that.”

  • Milos Krasic. The Serbian attacking midfielder impressed during last month’s meeting between the two sides and went close with a long-range effort in the first half. He looked full of running and endeavour throughout the game. Hope he is not as lethal today.

Ugly!

  • What can be uglier than a house full of injured players! Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Ji-sung Park and Ryan Giggs will definitely miss Tuesday’s Champions League tie with CSKA Moscow, while Dimitar Berbatov is a doubt after suffering a kick on the knee-cap in United’s weekend win.

**Rooney’s involvement is also unclear after wife Coleen gave birth to the couple’s first child on Monday. However, it’s not all bad news: Darren Fletcher is definitely back having recovered from an injury picked up on international duty last month.

There you have it, an entire news roundup for today’s game. While I seriously hope for a victory, but the new manager and all the injury news makes me feel edgy. What about you guys?

Darren Fletcher’s return to starting line up should have been mentioned in the good points.
