For those who still do not know, Manchester United Supporters’ Trust organized a meeting before the Burnley game to discuss possible options on how to take the fight to the Glazers. A brief synopsis of what transpired at the meeting is provided here by Scott from the popular United blog Republik of Mancunia. All those who were not able to attend and those who are scattered all around the globe (like me) must go through the main points and think about the best way to hustle the Glazers away from Manchester United.
One point that was raised in the meeting and has been bandied about in the press a lot is the ‘Resign Request’ to be sent to Sir Alex asking him to quit his job in order to show solidarity with the anti-Glazer campaign. While such a resignation would build some serious pressure on the Glazers, the negative consequences of such a decision easily outweigh the positive. If Sir Alex were to quit at such a critical point in United’s history, nothing would stop Manchester United from descending into chaos. While many have been frustrated by Sir Alex’ constant shielding of the Glazers by using his ‘no value in the market’ party-line umpteen number of times, what we have to realize is the fact that right now there is no one else better equipped to handle the perilous circumstances circling Old Trafford. None of the big-name managers would want to work in such a stifled climate and the other options are just not good enough. Sir Alex’ love and devotion for Manchester United can not be questioned. So wouldn’t it be better to let someone we love and trust guide us through these troubled times?
Giving up season tickets is also not a good idea. If you give up your season tickets someone else is sure to come in and snap it up. And at the end of the day you end up hurting not the Glazers but yourself. I am very enthusiastic about the idea of getting some one like a Cantona or a Keane to be the figurehead of this campaign. That would bring in some much needed seriousness to this agitation and will help attract more people to the cause. The proposal to keep Old Trafford empty for the first 10 minutes for the Milan game sounds fancy but will end up demoralizing our players who will need all the support they can get for this important game.
Protest marches and slogan chanting are going to be some of our primary weapons and should be used as freely as possible. If you can make it to Old Trafford make sure you join in on the protest. For those who live outside of Manchester and can’t make it, try and spread the word as much as possible and try to bring in people to join the campaign. For starters, ask them join MUST (click here to join for free).
Remember: Love United Hate Glazer.

I completely agree! Sir Alex resigning would be like cutting the heart out of the club. The goal is not supposed to be to hurt the club we love so much, it’s to help it.
Despite my in-bred hate for the gaffer (I am a Gooner btw), I still don’t want Sir Alex to leave. The only plausible reason I can think of is that without him beating United won’t be the same. It will be like beating Shitty. No matter how many times you ‘do’ them, they won’t ever retaliate. And I don’t want United to turn into Loserpool. After all they are the only real rivals we’ve got (Chel@sea are very recent, and shall go down the moment the Russian departs). Stay on Alex, Kick the Glazers.
And when I talk of Sir Alex, how can any one forget his duels with Wenger. Legendary if I may. Read on:
