Bellamy's a disgrace

Bellamy's a disgrace

Jake Clarke’s the man. Clarke is the Manchester United fan who was pushed in the face by the blue c*$t Craig Bellamy at the end of the derby yesterday after coming on to the pitch in a moment of madness. This after being rugby-tackled and pinned back by no less than four stewards. Clarke had arrived with his father and two brothers for the match and even his father was surprised by his actions. He has now revealed as to what transpired during that discussion that led to Bellamy’s disgraceful and unmanly behaviour. He also spoke of his remorse over the entire incident while hoping that a ban would somehow be avoided.

“I was flung towards the barrier when Michael Owen scored – the place went mad, everyone was hugging each other and I can’t explain why it happened. I was just loving the moment I guess after all the excitement throughout the match. The next thing I was on the pitch just wanting to celebrate with the United players. t’s not in my blood to want to hurt anyone, I just wanted to cheer them up close.”

“I remember being tackled on the pitch and then I saw Bellamy coming over to me. He shouted at me, “Get off the f**king pitch you f**king k**bhead”. He said it a few times then just shoved me in the face.”

And now for the classiest rejoinder of all time:

“I said to him, “4-3 mate,” and I think he said something else to me before I was taken away.”

Now, I don’t support football hooliganism in any way. However, this just looks like a fan caught in a sea of emotions who couldn’t control himself after all the euphoria that was surging through him. It is very clear that he did not want to hurt anyone and for Bellamy to attack the guy both verbally and physically is uncalled for. Especially seeing as the stewards had everything under control. It was also pretty clear from both Ferdinand and O’Shea’s reaction that the incident didn’t go down well with our players as well.

Predictably, however, both Mark Hughes and his assistant manager Mark Bowen have defended Bellamy’s action clearly under the effect of the bitterness coursing through their veins after the morale-sapping defeat they had to endure on Sunday.

Hughes:

“All Craig has done is go over there and tell the guy to get off the pitch. Craig wasn’t privy to how much time was left to enable us to get back into the game. The guy made an aggressive move towards him and Craig wanted to get him off the pitch. Craig just put a defensive hand out to push him away. You can never be quite sure what is going to happen in those situations. We have not been contacted by the FA but if we are, that is what we will say.”

First of all it wasn’t Clarke who made any aggressive movement towards Bellamy but, on the contrary, it was Bellamy who went all the way up to the guy to confront him. Secondly, how can that push be a defensive one? Anyone who has seen the incident can confirm without a doubt that the push was out of anger and frustration rather than a defensive instinct. More lies and bollocks from Sparky here.

Bowen:

“Craig had been our talisman on the day and brought us back into the game twice. A goal had just gone in and Craig was going to the fella to say in no uncertain terms to get off the pitch. Obviously I can’t quote exactly what he said but it was like ‘Get off the pitch’. We were still in the game and it only takes a second to score a goal.”

So does Bowen mean that since Bellamy was City’s talisman on the day, he is excused for anything and everything?

Both the FA and the Greater Manchester Police are investigating the incident and I sincerely hope that Bellamy gets a sharp rap on the knuckles for this. As for Clarke, he doesn’t quite stand a chance when it comes to avoiding a ban but if it were up to me, I would surely buy the guy a round of drinks for doing this!
