Rooney and Fergie under FA scrutiny following Chelsea outburst

Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney is facing the prospect of an Football Association charge after shouting the words “12 men” in camera following the Chelsea match against United yesterday. Sir Alex Ferguson may also be involved in the scrutiny for criticizing the referee Matkin Atkinson. Rooney’s action is being drawn parallels with that of Didier Drogba after he infamously ranted about the referee post Chelsea’s Barcelona match last Champions League Semis which led to a three match ban.

While Fergie is already facing the possibilities of a touchline ban after accepting improper conduct for his Alan Wiley comments, it is Rooney more than Fergie whose actions are seeming to cause an uproar  among the FA.

Rooney was yellow carded for run of play for arguing with the referee after the 76′ goal from John Terry. As Rooney left the field, he mouthed the words “12 men” into the TV camera. And how that is even by for a fraction of a second similar to what Drogba and other members of John Terry’s crude gang in blue did is beyond my intelligence.

It seems for a good period of time the Respect campaign is as good as DEAD for me. And here is to what Rooney did, 12 MEN INDEED!
