Gary Neville

Sports News - January 11, 2009
With the game at the Bridge so near, it is good to see two of our players return back to camp for practice. Both Berbatov and Vidic are poised to make a return to the Chelsea match. Hargreaves is only 10 days away from return to practice while Ferdinand and Ji-Sung Park are still not fit to make a return. [Keep Reading…]

Gary Neville is a red, he hates Scousers

Here’s a lowdown of what our players are saying ahead of the much anticipated clash on Sunday. A common theme seems to be a sort of determination to avoid complacency and rightly so. In matches like these, form becomes totally irrelevant. Expect a wounded Liverpool side to come out fighting. [Keep Reading…]

A fan first, a player later

A fan first, a player later

After Michael Owen scored a breathtaking last-minute winner in the Manchester derby, Gary Neville performed an unforgettable jig down the touchline mimicing almost all United fans the world over. It was the celebration of a fan, not a team member. It showed the amount of passion that Neville nurtures for Manchester United in his heart. At that moment, I was proud of our captain, proud of his enthusiasm, proud of his dedication and proud of his love of the club. Could you have imagined either one of Terry, Stevie Me, Toure or Fabregas doing the same after not even featuring in the most important game of the season? The answer is a loud and clear no. But instead of applauding the passion behind Neville’s antics, the FA chose to issue him with a warning exposing the amount of hypocrisy prevailing through their ranks. However, Neville has today found an unexpected backer for his actions in Spurs boss Harry Redknapp who not only praised Neville’s dedication to our club but also asked his own players to mimic his ‘excitement’. Bellamy: Escapes punishment

Bellamy: Escapes punishment

After Craig Bellamy’s vile behaviour towards a Manchester United fan who had invaded the pitch in the wake of United’s late, late winner against City, I had expressed my hope over a relatively heavy punishment being handed out to him. It was foolish for Jake Clarke to have let his emotions get the better of him. However, it was downright inexcusable for Bellamy to have unleashed an unprovoked attack on him seeing as the stewards already seemed to have the situation under control. Out of sheer bitterness, Mark Hughes and his assistant Mark Bowen had rushed to defend Bellamy claiming that it was the fan who was in the wrong and Bellamy’s actions were somehow defensive. It seems the FA has taken the same delusional view and has decided to leave the Welshman with just a warning. With the FA’s obsession with proper fan conduct, the decision could have been seen coming. [Keep Reading…]

Gary Neville has had yet another injury setback just before the season began. United captain picked up the groin strain and that means he missed not only today’s game which we went on to win but also the Audi cup (atleast it looks that way for now). [Keep Reading…]

Who Do You Want To See As Our Right Back?

by professorkaka20.07.2009 Opinion

In our Champions League winning season, Wes Brown did a fantastic job as our right-back. He was brilliant defensively and was solid without being spectacular in attack. His injury last season, however, did not allow him to play any role in our team. Instead, his absence helped us unearth a very talented lad in Rafael [...]
