With the game at the Bridge so near, it is good to see two of our players return back to camp for practice. Both Berbatov and Vidic are poised to make a return to the Chelsea match. Hargreaves is only 10 days away from return to practice while Ferdinand and Ji-Sung Park are still not fit to make a return. [Keep Reading…]
Here’s a lowdown of what our players are saying ahead of the much anticipated clash on Sunday. A common theme seems to be a sort of determination to avoid complacency and rightly so. In matches like these, form becomes totally irrelevant. Expect a wounded Liverpool side to come out fighting. [Keep Reading…]
Nemanja Vidic made a much needed return to the United defensive system in the 5-0 win against Wigan turning in a typically robust and compact performance. He was gritty, combative and sharp; everything you expect to see from Nemanja. All this came after a week full of rumours and suggestions about his possible move away from the club. Earlier in the summer, there was talk of Vida leaving us for Milan. Last week, some quotes attributed to his agent Paolo Fabbri indicated that Vida would be delighted to join his ‘dream’ club Barcelona. A fairly exorbitant price of 25 million pounds is being quoted by the press. A good ol’ dump of horse-shit I say. [Keep Reading…]
Rio Ferdinand’s thigh injury turned out to be more serious than what was initially thought, with a two-week expected layoff turning into a month long absence. Rio had suffered a tear in his thigh during training for the Birmingham game and was initially expected to miss a couple of weeks only. Now he is sure to miss a number of high-profile games coming up, and judging by the way we have started this season these are going to be some high-stakes fixtures for United. Amidst all the doom and gloom, Vidic’s return from injury has come as a silver lining. Fitness permitting, Vidic and Evans are expected to be our first choice defensive pairing in the center for the Arsenal, Spurs and City games. [Keep Reading…]
Sir Alex has today provided an update on our numerous injury headaches especially in defence. Gary Neville was sent home right in the middle of the Asia Tour due to a groin strain, Wes was pulled off with a thigh problem during the Boca game and Nemanja has hardly had any pre-season at all due to a calf strain.
