With the week being of for World Cup 2010 Qualifiers, it means that the rumour mills are working out to make a groundwork for the approaching transfer window this break. On His Way to The Theatre Of Dreams?
The rumor mills are gaining momentum with the buzz of David Silva being about to join United come this January transfer window. Silva was one of our concrete summer targets this time around but there were a number of factors that prevented from anything coming about. Sir Alex had stressed time and again that considering the inflation in the transfer market, there was no logic in bringing in any high profile players. Naturally, the disappointment among all fans was huge. But just when David Silva’s image in a red shirt was beginning to fade from our consciousness, his comments in the media today have rekindled the hopes of many. [Keep Reading…]
The Viola are the latest to accuse United of poaching
After FIFA handed out a ban to Chelsea on the basis of a poaching allegation being proved against them in regard to a French youngster Gael Kakuta, a pandora’s box seems to have opened. Long lost and forgotten complaints are being dug up in the hope of extracting similar punishments for the offending clubs. In the middle of the storm: Paul Pogba
In the wake of the Gael Kakuta controversy, a number of clubs from all over Europe were up in arms accusing big English clubs of poaching their young talent and demanding punitive action from FIFA. United were mostly silent on the whole controversy only breaking their silence once to confirm that they had indulged in no wrongdoing. Now it seems, the patience has run out. United today have threatened to take action against Le Havre if they continue with “unfounded” allegations that payments were made to the parents of French starlet Paul Pogba in order to entice the player to Old Trafford. Only yesterday, we ran a story on the ludicrous ‘Arjen-Robben-for-United’ transfer story featuring so prominently in the press. Continuing with the trend of churning out absurdly improbable stories, the media has today revealed a Fergie-Ando bust-up and a Modric-Carrick-Cash deal among other things. Just sit back and enjoy some good old fiction at play. [Keep Reading…]
Nemanja Vidic made a much needed return to the United defensive system in the 5-0 win against Wigan turning in a typically robust and compact performance. He was gritty, combative and sharp; everything you expect to see from Nemanja. All this came after a week full of rumours and suggestions about his possible move away from the club. Earlier in the summer, there was talk of Vida leaving us for Milan. Last week, some quotes attributed to his agent Paolo Fabbri indicated that Vida would be delighted to join his ‘dream’ club Barcelona. Although Fabbri was quick to deny any such statement, the ‘no smoke without fire’ belief that is so deeply ingrained in the realm of football made us fear the worst. However, Nemanja has come out today to refute all such rumours by stressing his dedication for United. [Keep Reading…]
